Topic: End of Life Issues for Veterans
Presenter: Charles Tilley MS, ANP-BC, ACHPN, CWOCN
Charles Tilley is one of the two co-founders of International Advanced Practice Palliative Care Partners, LLC (IAPPCP), an educational company dedicated to empowering nurses from all specialties to integrate evidence-based palliative care knowledge and skills into daily clinical practice. Mr. Tilley graduated with an Associate in Applied Science (major in nursing) from Adirondack Community College in 1989, Bachelor of Science (major in nursing) from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1991, a Master of Science (major in nursing education) from Russell Sage College in 1993, an Advanced Certificate in Advanced Practice Nursing: Adult Nurse Practitioner/Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner from New York University in 2009 and a certificate in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing from La Salle University in 2011.
A Nurse Educator for over 20 years, Mr. Tilley has taught in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs since 1995; first at the University of San Francisco and currently at New York University. He brings over 25 years of experience including; coronary care, cardiovascular intensive care, trauma, burns, oncology and most recently community-based palliative care and acute inpatient hospice. He has acted as a palliative care consultant for local and international foundations.
He was the first to publish in the field of palliative ostomy care and has presented on palliative wound, ostomy and continence topics locally, nationally and internationally.
Mr. Tilley is an active member of the following organizations: Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society, Hospice & Palliative Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
