Topic: An Overview of Legal Nurse Consulting
This presentation highlights the role and career opportunities as legal nurse consultant. Best practices in clinical judgement and documentation will be discussed using a case report.
Presenter: Brian Joseph Fasolka, PhD, RN, CEN
Dr. Fasolka is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing. He received a B.S.N. from DeSales University, an M.S.N. in nursing education from DeSales University, and a Ph.D. in nursing science from Widener University. Professional Overview: Dr. Fasolka’s practice background is in emergency nursing, and he continues to practice as an emergency nurse at a quaternary hospital center. He served on the Emergency Nurses Association’s (ENA) work team to develop the ENA’s Emergency Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice. Dr. Fasolka’s research interests include professional mentoring, men in nursing, and nursing workforce planning.
Dr. Fasolka’s past teaching experience includes adult health and pharmacology for undergraduate students and health policy and politics for graduate students. He has served as a preceptor for numerous graduate students studying nursing education. Prior to joining the faculty at NYU, Dr. Fasolka was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at Drexel University College of Nursing & Health Professions.
