Austin is an ever-evolving visionary and life long learner, committed to effecting change in professional nursing practice. Austin has been a member of the local chapter since 2013 and has lead various committees; most notably the membership committee where he ensured the NYC chapter remained the largest nationally within the American Association for Men in Nursing.

Professionally Austin has a myriad of experience in the corporate business arena where he’s held various roles from operations management to financial analytics. Austin currently works as a clinical nurse at New York Presbyterian’s Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where he often serves as a charge nurse and unit preceptor.

Austin received his nursing education from Pennsylvania State University, where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. Austin is currently perusing a Masters of Science Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Advanced Clinical Management at Columbia University. 

As Vice President of the chapter, Austin plans to work alongside the President in assist in reshaping the vision of the chapter with a renewed focus on community engagement, cultivating the next generation of nurses and raising awareness on issues that disproportionately effects men’s health.
